Endeavour Bay, Mustique: Where to Stay and Why It's Worth It
The best places to stay in Endeavour Bay are the two homes we list on it: Blue Waters, an Oliver Messel-designed villa with private access to the bay, and Wyler House, a contemporary retreat by Paolo Piva. Our villas in Endeavour Bay are worth it for the setting itself, a quiet bay on Mustique's northwest coast where life moves at a very easy pace.
What Endeavour Bay Is Like
Endeavour Bay sits on the northwest coast of Mustique, the small private island in the Grenadines. Both of our homes here sit in garden settings close to the water, and the bay keeps a calm, residential feel.
That's what sets the bay apart from its neighbours. Where Britannia Bay is the island's busy harbour and some coves feel enclosed, Endeavour Bay is spacious and residential. It has the cultivated, unhurried feel of a place where people come to live well rather than to be seen.
Why Endeavour Bay Is Worth It
Every bay on Mustique has its own appeal. These are the reasons our guests keep choosing this one:
- Life close to the water. Blue Waters has direct access to the bay, according to our listing.
- Walkable beaches. According to our listing, Wyler House is within walking distance of Endeavour Beach and neighbouring L'Ansecoy Bay.
- Architectural heritage. Oliver Messel shaped much of Mustique's early look, and Blue Waters is one of his designs.
- Easy reach of the island. Our listings put both homes about 1.6 km from Britannia Bay and a little over 2 km from Macaroni Beach, with the tennis courts close by.
Where to Stay: Our Villas in Endeavour Bay
We list two homes in Endeavour Bay, and they could hardly be more different. That's useful, because the right choice depends on who's travelling with you.
Blue Waters
Blue Waters is the heritage choice: a villa designed by Oliver Messel, set in tropical gardens with private access to Endeavour Bay. An infinity pool is placed to take in the view, and three separate al fresco dining areas are scattered through the grounds, so lunch, sundowners and dinner can each happen somewhere new. Inside, French doors and cove ceilings keep the rooms bright and true to the original design.
It suits couples and small groups who want the bay on their doorstep and a home with real character. A housekeeper, gardener and private chef are part of the service, alongside our concierge.
Wyler House
Wyler House takes a more sculptural approach. Designed by Paolo Piva, it's built around a swimming pool with a bridge crossing above it, and an underwater window inside the house looks straight into the water. A courtyard-style dining patio sits at the heart of the home, and roof terraces on either side of the main bedroom open onto wide views.
The layout makes it one of the more family-friendly villas on this part of the island. Alongside the suites in the main house, there's a separate bedroom suite, a children's playroom, a gym and a media room. Service includes a housekeeper, private chef and butler, plus our concierge.
Who Endeavour Bay Suits Best
Endeavour Bay is a natural fit for travelers who want calm, space and a sense of residence. Couples drawn to design and history tend to gravitate toward Blue Waters. Families with children, or friends who like a home with plenty to do between beach visits, often prefer Wyler House.
It's less suited to anyone looking for a lively scene on the doorstep. The bay's appeal is quiet, and that's exactly the point.
Planning Your Stay
Getting to Mustique is part of the planning in St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The island has its own small airstrip, and most guests connect through a larger airport in the region. Our listings put St. Vincent's Argyle International Airport about 31.6 km away, across the water. The driest and most popular months run roughly December through April. Atlantic hurricane season officially runs June 1 to November 30.
With only two homes on the bay, availability can be limited in peak weeks, so we'd suggest starting early. Every villa in our collection is personally inspected before it joins, and we check each one again before every stay. Our concierge can arrange transfers, boat days and private dining, so the days can be as full or as empty as you like.
Is Endeavour Bay Worth It?
For travelers who want Mustique at its most relaxed, yes. Endeavour Bay combines a quiet setting and two very different luxury homes for rent, each a short walk or drive from the rest of the island.
If you'd like to see either home in more detail, start with our villas in Endeavour Bay, from the Messel heritage of Blue Waters to the bold design of Wyler House. When you're ready, we're here.
