As the Chief Commercial Officer of Lacure I spend a good chunk of time in search of the next exciting destination that not only inspires me, but elicits a sense of adventure and intrigue. While my travels have taken me to many less frequented parts of the world, I am still drawn to some of the more popular destinations where I first experienced what it feels like to explore and embrace my more adventurous side. Whether it was the first time I backpacked through Europe in my 20’s or the first time I dove head first into the piercing blue water in the Amalfi off the coast of Capri, I have always had a love affair with Europe and summer was the season this infatuation became a full blown obsession. Now, as an executive with a seemingly endless list of responsibilities and commitments I find myself longing for the days when adventure was my accomplice and my compass was guided by an unabashed sense of curiosity.
As winter thaws (for some of us) I am reminded that Summer is right around the corner. As an avid traveler my wanderlust always seems to go into overdrive as April nears and this year with Covid’s grip firmly in the rear view, my sights are set on a little adventure and Italy is at the top of my list. There is nothing like a little Dolce Vita to nourish the soul and reignite that little bit of revelry that reminds us of what it feels like to be alive!
Whether it’s getting lost in the streets of Capri, or diving head first into the enchanting waters off Amalfi, Italy has an allure that keeps you wanting more, just when you think you got enough. This summer I have my sights set on….has an unmistakable charm largely due to its people and the pace of life, but surprisingly what I found most captivating about the experience was the time I spent in my Villa. Perhaps it reminded me of my adolescence and the feeling of freedom that accompanied those years, or maybe it was the realization that this was a special moment in time, spent with special people in a special place. Whatever the feeling was, I wanted to hold on to it and never let it go…
